TEREA flavors: the short answer

TEREA flavors fall into four families: plain tobacco, menthol, menthol with fruit, and “Pearl” sticks with a flavor capsule in the filter. The exact lineup depends on the country: our Japanese list runs to 26 flavors, while the Indonesian and Malaysian lists are shorter and use many old HEETS names. On our ratings, the strongest tobacco flavors are Rich Regular and Russet, and the coldest menthols are Black Menthol and Black Green.

“Strong” on a TEREA chart doesn’t mean what most people think, and some of the best flavors hide behind names that tell you nothing. Below is the full list of the three versions we sell in Thailand, rated for strength and cooling, with our picks at the end.

TEREA stick flavors: the four families

  • Tobacco. No menthol, from light and clean to bold and malty. A few add a soft note of tea, nuts, cocoa or fruit.
  • Menthol. From a gentle mint to an icy chill. In the Japanese range, “Black” in the name usually means cool menthol, often with fruit. Only Black Menthol sits at the icy top; plain Menthol is colder than most other “Black” flavors.
  • Menthol with fruit. Menthol plus blueberry, mango, citrus, pear and more. Some Indonesian and Malaysian names end in “Wave”.
  • Pearl (capsule). A normal stick with a bead in the filter. Squeeze it until it clicks and a cool flavor, usually fruit, joins the tobacco.

All TEREA, from any country, fit every IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i device. They don’t work in older IQOS models with a heating blade, and HEETS don’t work in ILUMA.

TEREA strength chart: tobacco flavors

Strength here means how bold the tobacco tastes, on a 1–5 scale. These are our shop’s own ratings, not official Philip Morris scores. Outside sources agree on the top: reviews of the Japanese range rank Rich Regular as the boldest, and IQOS UK gives its own Russet 5 out of 5 for intensity.

What is the strongest TEREA?

For taste, Rich Regular and Russet. If you smoked strong cigarettes and want the same punch, start there. If you want the coldest stick, it’s Black Menthol from Japan or Black Green, which IQOS Indonesia calls “an intense menthol cooling sensation”.

Nicotine is a different story. Philip Morris says its heated tobacco sticks yield about 0.5 mg of nicotine each in the standard ISO lab test, give or take 0.1 mg depending on the variant. It doesn’t publish a nicotine figure for each TEREA flavor. So the gap between a 5 and a 2 on our chart is about taste and body, not a stated nicotine level.

TEREA menthol flavors, from gentle to icy

Cooling runs from 2 (a light hint) to 5 (icy). As with strength, these are our own ratings. Pearl sticks have their own section below. Menthol with fruit sits mostly in the middle, where you taste both the chill and the fruit.

The same name can feel different from country to country. Black Purple is a 4 in the Japanese version and a 3 in the Indonesian and Malaysian ones.

TEREA Pearl: the capsule flavors

Pearl sticks look like any other TEREA, but there’s a small capsule in the filter. Squeeze the filter until you hear a click, and a cool flavor, usually fruit, joins the tobacco. IQOS UK describes it the same way: a click of the capsule adds a cooling flavor. You can click at any point in the session, or not at all.

Pearls are a good bridge for people coming from fruity vapes: the tobacco is still there, but the capsule gives you the fruit.

Best TEREA flavors: our picks by taste

Why the TEREA flavors list depends on the country

Philip Morris makes different lineups for different markets, so a TEREA flavors list from the UK or Korea won’t match one from Japan. The three versions we sell in Thailand split like this:

  • Japan: the widest range, the most menthol and the most Pearls. It costs a little more.
  • Indonesia: mostly menthol and fruit, old HEETS names, plus limited “Dimensions” editions that come and go.
  • Malaysia: the classic HEETS-style tobacco trio of Russet, Amber and Sienna, plus menthol and soft fruit flavors.

We compare the three side by side, flavor by flavor, in our guide to TEREA Japan vs Indonesia vs Malaysia.

Ordering TEREA flavors in Thailand

We sell all three versions by the carton only: 10 packs, 200 sticks. Indonesian and Malaysian cartons start at 2,400 THB (about $70) when you order 2 or more, Japanese ones at 2,600 THB (about $76), and delivery is free anywhere in Thailand. Prices and the live list are on our TEREA page.

Availability is on request, since not every flavor is in stock at every moment. Message the manager on WhatsApp or Telegram with a first choice and a backup. They’ll confirm the flavors, the final price and your address before you pay.

Heated tobacco is formally banned in Thailand, but enforcement is softer in practice. The real risk is airport customs, which is why ordering after you arrive is simpler than bringing sticks through the airport. Our guide on whether IQOS is legal in Thailand has the details. Buy what you’ll use during your stay: many countries limit or ban bringing TEREA home.

FAQ

Quick answers

What is the strongest TEREA?

For tobacco taste, Rich Regular from Japan and Russet from Malaysia are the boldest. IQOS UK rates its own Russet 5 out of 5 for intensity. For menthol, Black Menthol (Japan) and Black Green (Indonesia, Malaysia) are the coldest on our chart.

Which TEREA is the mildest?

Among tobacco flavors, Clear Regular and Balance from Japan are the lightest. If you want menthol but only a gentle chill, try Mint (Japan), Green (Indonesia) or Turquoise (Malaysia).

Which TEREA has the most menthol?

Black Menthol from Japan and Black Green from Indonesia and Malaysia give the strongest cooling. A step down are Menthol from Japan and Blue from Indonesia and Malaysia.

How much nicotine is in one TEREA stick?

Philip Morris says its heated tobacco sticks yield about 0.5 mg of nicotine each in the standard ISO lab test, give or take 0.1 mg by variant. It doesn’t publish a figure for each TEREA flavor, so a ‘strong’ flavor mostly means a bolder taste.

What are TEREA Pearl flavors?

Pearl sticks have a flavor capsule in the filter. You can use them without pressing the capsule, or squeeze the filter until it clicks to add a cool flavor, usually fruit, such as watermelon in Sun Pearl or lemon in Stellar Pearl.
